I told Duke that I'd write up a history of the Pigs to put on the website, but I couldn't figure out where to start. I finally decided that the first glimmer was when Bruce and I played together in Melbourne, but that's a long story in itself, so I blogged it here as the history, Part I. Duke can just add the permalink to the web page.
However, I think that there was actually an even earlier precursor, which is when I came to Durham in November of 2000 and jammed with SG's band. It was the combined experiences of playing with SG in Durham, and Bruce in Melbourne that led to the attempt to get together in Dallas... But that's another story... Which I'll try to get to in a day or two.

That last post didn't work correctly - look here at www.ultimateungulate.com/Artiodactyla/Sus_barbatus.html to see the scientific origin of the Bearded Pigs.

I am trying to research the McKay Pig for an ag science paper. If you could tell me how I could get info on this animal I would appreciate it.
